MetroPCS Launches NYC, Boston, Manchester (NH) Markets
This forum post, which includes a press release, says it all. Looks like MetroPCS is putting their new 1700MHz spectrum to good use. It's certainly nice to see yet another carrier offerin gunlimited service in these areas...you've got Sprint, AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile selling $100 nationwide service, Boost Mobile offering $50 iDEN-powered service and now MetroPCS offering their portfolio, in more places than ever. Plus you get roaming. Good deal? Yep.

Hi. Got a question for ya...
I work for a department store that sells both post paid and pre-paid cell phones. Recently, we started selling Metro PCS, but the handsets came in with no literature. I've been trying to learn about them since, up until we got them, I never heard of them.
We don't sell Cricket.
Today a customer came in and asked another employee about Metro, and the other employee told him Metro PCS was Cricket, and the only way to activate Metro was to take it to a Cricket store and have them do it.
Here's my question(s):
Metro pcs and Cricket aren't the same company are they? And even if they are Cricket, customers wouldn't have to take the Metro phone to Cricket store to activate it, do they?
I realize this seems like a stupid question, and I'm pretty sure I'm right, but I want to be absolutely sure before I call him an idiot.
One other question for my own info. What towers does Metro pcs use? Other pre-paid phones ie tracphone, net 10, etc use AT&T towers in our area, but I've been led to believe Metro has their own towers. They are CDMA phones, right? Do they use Sprint or Verizon towers or do they have their own?
